Community Guidelines
The standards that help Chef Studio remain respectful, practical and useful for chefs and hospitality professionals.
1. Purpose and scope
Chef Studio exists to support practical learning and constructive professional exchange. These guidelines apply whenever you participate in the portal or interact with another member or the Chef Studio team.
2. Treat people professionally
- Challenge ideas without attacking people.
- Allow for different backgrounds, roles, experience levels and working cultures.
- Do not harass, threaten, bully, intimidate, shame or discriminate.
- Do not organise dog-piling, repeated unwanted contact or retaliation against someone who reports a concern.
Kitchen culture can be direct; that is not an excuse for cruelty or exclusion. Disagreement is welcome when it remains relevant, factual and respectful.
3. Content that is not permitted
- Unlawful, defamatory, fraudulent, hateful, sexually exploitative, threatening or deliberately deceptive material.
- Instructions that create an obvious and serious risk to food safety, workplace safety or another person.
- Spam, repetitive promotion, pyramid schemes, undisclosed affiliate marketing or unsolicited recruitment.
- Malware, scraping, attempts to bypass access controls, impersonation or collection of member information without permission.
- Copyright-infringing material, confidential recipes or documents, trade secrets, personal data or images you do not have the right to share.
Do not post graphic or distressing material without a legitimate professional purpose and an appropriate warning.
4. Culinary and safety discussions
Members may share professional experience, but community posts are not a substitute for site-specific risk assessment, allergen controls, HACCP procedures, employment advice, medical advice or guidance from the relevant authority. Clearly identify opinion, personal experience and uncertainty.
5. Privacy and confidentiality
Assume that other members can see what you publish in a shared space. Do not disclose customer, employee, supplier or colleague information without a lawful basis and permission. Avoid uploading rotas, incident reports, medical details, contracts or commercially sensitive records.
6. Promotion and conflicts
Relevant recommendations are allowed when they genuinely help the discussion. Disclose any commercial relationship, gifted product, commission or personal interest. Selling, lead generation and repeated promotional posting require prior permission.
7. Moderation and enforcement
Chef Studio may label, move, edit, hide or remove content; limit messaging or posting; issue a warning; suspend features; or close an account where reasonably necessary to protect members, the service or legal rights. The response will normally reflect seriousness, context, repetition and risk.
8. Reporting and review
Report concerns through the contact page with the relevant link or screenshot. Do not publicly identify or retaliate against a reporter. If action is taken against your account, you may ask for a review unless doing so would compromise safety, security or legal obligations.
9. Your responsibility
You remain responsible for your contributions and decisions. Participation also remains subject to the Terms and Conditions, Privacy Notice and Culinary Content and Safety Disclaimer.
