A clear explanation of the cookies and similar technologies used across the website, shop and community.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on a computer, phone or other device when you visit a website. Similar technologies can include local storage, pixels and device identifiers. They can remember choices, keep a session secure, measure use or support connected services.
2. Who uses them
Chefs Studio sets first-party cookies through chefs.studio. Services included in the site may also set third-party cookies or receive related information. The website uses WordPress and Breakdance and is planned to include a FluentCart shop and a FluentCommunity member area.
Payment, video, analytics, support, social-media or other providers may be added where useful. The consent banner and this notice will be updated to identify the services actually enabled before non-essential technologies are used.
3. Strictly necessary cookies
These technologies are needed to provide a service you request or to keep it secure. They may be used without consent where the UK PECR exemption applies, although we still explain them clearly.
- keeping the site secure, balancing traffic and preventing fraud or abuse;
- maintaining a logged-in WordPress or FluentCommunity session;
- remembering items in a FluentCart basket and progressing through checkout;
- recording privacy and cookie choices so the banner does not repeatedly ask;
- providing account, payment or community features specifically requested by you.
Blocking these cookies through your browser may prevent login, checkout, security or other requested features from working.
4. Functional cookies
Functional technologies remember optional preferences or enable enhanced content, such as an embedded video, chat service, language choice or richer community feature. Where they are not strictly necessary, they will be disabled until you consent. Refusing them should leave the core site available, although some enhanced features may not work.
5. Analytics cookies
Analytics technologies help us understand which pages and resources are useful, how visitors move through the site and whether errors occur. If analytics is enabled, non-essential analytics cookies will not be set until you consent. We will favour proportionate settings, data minimisation and shorter retention where the service allows.
6. Marketing cookies
Marketing technologies can measure campaigns, limit repeated advertising or help show relevant promotions on other services. Chefs Studio will not use non-essential marketing cookies or pixels until you consent. Withdrawing consent will stop future use but does not undo processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
7. Shop and community cookies
FluentCart
The shop may use necessary cookies or local storage to maintain a basket, checkout session, currency or customer account and to protect transactions. A selected payment provider may use security and fraud-prevention technologies during checkout under its own notice.
FluentCommunity
The community may use necessary technologies to keep members signed in, protect accounts, remember navigation or notification preferences and deliver requested member features. Optional integrations will follow the consent choice that applies to their purpose.
8. The live cookie register
Cookie names and durations depend on the final configuration of the shop, community, payments and optional services. We will not invent a list before those services are configured.
Before launch, the consent tool will be scanned and tested so that the live cookie register identifies each non-essential provider, purpose and duration, and blocks it until the required choice is made.
9. Managing your choices
The cookie banner will let you accept or reject non-essential categories without making rejection harder than acceptance. You will be able to change your mind through a persistent Cookie settings control once the consent system is active.
You can also delete or block cookies through your browser. Browser controls vary, and blocking all cookies may affect baskets, login and account security.
Where consent is required, silence, continued browsing or a pre-ticked option will not be treated as consent.
10. Retention and personal information
Session cookies normally expire when the browser closes. Persistent cookies remain until their stated expiry or until you delete them. Retention will be limited to what is necessary for the stated purpose.
Where cookie or device information can identify or single out a person, it is also handled under the Privacy notice and applicable UK data-protection law.
11. Changes and contact
We will update this notice and the live register when services or legal requirements change. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
